1. Acceptance of Terms

By using Swipe Movie, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not accept these terms, please do not use our service.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will take effect immediately after publication on this page. Your continued use of the service after the publication of changes constitutes your acceptance of those changes.

2. Service Description

Swipe Movie is a free web application that allows users to:

  • Create "rooms" to choose movies as a group
  • Invite other users to join their rooms
  • Swipe on movies to express their preferences
  • Discover "matches" when all room members like the same movie

The service uses data from The Movie Database (TMDb) to provide movie information.

3. Permitted Use

You are permitted to:

  • Use Swipe Movie for personal and non-commercial purposes
  • Create an account with your Google information
  • Create and join rooms
  • Swipe on movies and see your matches
  • Share your room codes with friends

4. Prohibited Use

It is strictly prohibited to:

  • Use the service for commercial purposes without written authorization
  • Create fake accounts or impersonate others
  • Attempt to hack, compromise, or disrupt the service
  • Use bots, scripts, or automated tools
  • Extract or scrape data from the service
  • Post illegal, offensive, or inappropriate content
  • Use the service to send spam or unsolicited content

5. User Accounts

To use Swipe Movie, you must create an account by signing in with Google OAuth. You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the security of your Google account
  • All activities performed from your account
  • Immediately notifying us of any unauthorized use of your account

We reserve the right to suspend or delete your account if we suspect a violation of these Terms.

6. Intellectual Property

Swipe Movie and all its contents (logo, design, code, etc.) are protected by intellectual property laws.

Movie information (posters, synopses, ratings, etc.) is provided by The Movie Database (TMDb) and is subject to their own terms of use.

You retain all rights to the data you create in the application (your rooms, your swipes, etc.).

7. Limitation of Liability

Swipe Movie is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee that:

  • The service will always be available or uninterrupted
  • Movie information is accurate or up to date
  • The service will be free from errors or bugs

Under no circumstances will Swipe Movie be liable for direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from the use or inability to use the service.

8. Termination

You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time by contacting us at contact@swipe-movie.com.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the service at any time, without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms.

9. Applicable Law

These Terms are governed by French law. Any dispute relating to the interpretation or execution of these Terms will be submitted to the competent French courts.
